were stoked, to chill out, drop those BPM’s, bring this shit waterside and slip in to the waves.
Denver duo Neon Cities self-releases second EP “In Waves” with remixes from Synthwave artist Droid Bishop and Denver local Neuroc. A clear departure from the synthwave and soundtrack driven first EP Tessier-Ashpool, this release marks the first go at vocals from Chase Dobson in the laid back title track. In Waves could find itself filed next to Washed Out, Chad Valley, and Small Black. Droid Bishop re-rubs “In Waves” at the same slow BPM but brings a decidedly laid back synthwave aesthetic to the tune. The EP’s B side “Tony Montoya” is a dance floor ready instrumental disco track that lands closer to a early Cut Copy, Daft Punk, or Bag Raiders and is remixed by Denver’s own, Neuroc.
